Valerie McMillan

Biography- Dr. McMillan?s prosthodontics training and Master of Science in Dentistry was completed at The Ohio State University in 2009. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at The Ohio State University in 2006. Dr. McMillan has a practice limited to prosthodontics in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Dr. McMillan practices together with her husband John McMillan, dental technician, who also shares her passion for all things dentistry and promotes new ideas and techniques in the field. She is most passionate about removable dentures and loves to share her work in the denture world. Every year Dr. McMillan offers free dentures to patients during National Prosthodontics Awareness Week with the goal to help many patients by using technology like 3D printing.

3D Printed Dentures: Unique Clinical Applications
Dr. Valerie McMillan is a private practice prosthodontist with a passion for dentures. She shares the story of how her practice evolved from providing conventional dentures only to making almost exclusively digital dentures beginning more than five years ago. Then, in late 2019, she transitioned to providing almost exclusively 3D printed dentures. She reports about the clinical benefits of a fully digital printed product for dentures. By presenting her experience with years of providing digital dentures this session is a must for all dental professionals who seek experience and first hand insights, to better understand the how and why of printed dentures.

2. How printed dentures can be used for novel clinical applications
3. Insight into the future of denture treatment

Stavros Pelekanos, DDS

Biography- Dr. Stavros Pelekanos received his undergraduate degree in Dentistry (D.D.S.) in 1991 from the University of Athens, Greece. In 1993, he obtained his doctoral degree in Prosthodontics (Dr med dent) from the University of Freiburg (Prof. Dr. J.R. Strub), Germany. Following his professional training, Dr. Pelekanos established a private practice in Athens, oriented towards prosthodontics, implantology and esthetic dentistry. In 2002, he was appointed full-time Lecturer at the Department of Prosthodontics, Dental School, University of Athens, Greece, and in 2012 Assistant Professor in the same department. Since 2013, he is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED). He is a faculty member of gIDE Institute and Dental Tribune ,lecturing internationally and performing hands on courses on implants, aesthetics and restorative procedures. In 2008 and 2011, Dr. Pelekanos received 2nd and 1st prize at the scientific award competition of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry held in Madrid and Istanbul respectively. To date he has published over twenty articles in peer reviewed journals and 3 chapters in books.

Implants in the Esthetic Zone. Recent Developments
Recent developments in implantology have led to changes in implant and abutment design, as well as, in modifications in certain surgical protocols. Furthermore, timing of implant and abutment placement, materials selection and treatment sequence are of high value for a successful final outcome, while in the same time the decision-making process of every individual treatment plan becomes complicated, affecting the final result, especially in the esthetic zone. In this presentation modern surgical and prosthetic concepts (one-time intermediate abutments, digital sequencing) will be discussed throughout the presentation of clinical cases.

Prof. Lucio Lo Russo

Biography-Prof. Lucio Lo Russo graduated in Dentistry in 1998 at the University "Federico II" of Naples (Italy), where he subsequently obtained his PhD. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Oral Diseases at the School of Dentistry of the University of Foggia. He is involved in basic and applied clinical research related to the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of oral diseases, in particular in the field of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Digital Dentistry. He has published more than 140 scientific papers, most of which in high impact international scientific dental and medical journals.

Intraoral Scans for a Cast-Free Digital Dentures Workflow
The use of intraoral scans for denture fabrication may provide benefits to patient comfort, clinic ergonomics, and laboratory efficiency. Conceptual aspects related to the use of intraoral scans in removable prosthodontics will be discussed. Scanning strategies, practical scanning tips, and the overall cast-free workflow will be addressed highlighting key points related to jaw relation record, scans alignment, and denture design individualization.

Nelson Silva

Biography- Dr. Nelson Silva is Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He holds MSc, PhD and postdoctoral degrees from the University of São Paulo / New York University. Dr. Silva served as Assistant and Associate Professor of Prosthodontics / Biomaterials at the University of New York for about 11 years and published several book chapters and high impact manuscripts. His clinical and research skills involve translational research, biomaterials, disruptive technology in dentistry, laboratory and clinical aspects for the success of cosmetic restorations, partial and total removable prostheses and implants using CAD / CAM.

Digital Complete Denture: Enhancing its Esthetic Outcome
Several manufacturing process and materials have recently been developed and improved for digital complete dentures. In this presentation we will address some of the new developments in the field and show via clinical cases how one can improve significantly the esthetic outcome of milled digitally designed complete dentures.

Dennis P. Tarnow

Biography- Dennis P. Tarnow is currently Clinical Professor of Periodontology and Director of Implant Education at Columbia School of Dental Medicine. He is the former Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Tarnow has a certificate in Periodontics and Prosthodontics and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology. He is a recipient of the Master Clinician Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, Teacher of the Year Award from New York University and Distinguished Lecturer Award from the American College of Prosthodontists in 2015. Dr. Tarnow has a private practice in New York City, and has been honored with a wing named after him at New York University College of Dentistry. He has published over 200 articles on perio-prosthodontics and implant dentistry and has coauthored four textbooks including one with Dr. Stephen J. Chu titled ?The Single Tooth Implant.? Dr. Tarnow has lectured extensively in the United States and internationally in over forty-five countries.

Surgical and Restorative Management of Malposed Implants in the Aesthetic Zone
How and when to save implants that are not ideally placed will be highlighted in this presentation. These cases are some of our most difficult to treat with a successful outcome because they are fully visible to the patient when they smile.
